That was an excellent adventure. For those of you that missed it, I think we'll go again next year, so mark your calendars. And yes, we missed some great opportunities to further our fart research. Not sure how that happened because we're pretty much always doing research. Didn't have anything to record our findings maybe. Well, I do know that if research had been conducted Friday evening after supper, the results would have been compromised by extraneous matter having also escaped, thus fouling more than just the air.

Friday is the night a bunch of that Crown Royal forced it's way down my throat. Any research done that night would have been skewed anyway.

Hey what ever happened to "Twiddles"?

Some funny things I remember from the last week of Physics class...

Somebody squirted rubbing alcohol from one of the squeeze bottles on the underside of one of the lab tables and lit it. Also, I think it was Frank T. who put alcohol on his index finger and lit it.

We heated up pennies in a Bunsen burner until they were white-hot and then dropped them on the rather thick science dictionary or whatever it was and watched them burn their way down through it.

Mr. Vondruska gave us a stern lecture about how we were never going to make it in life or something.

Thank you.

Happy birthday to you Freak! Sorry I didn't post this on your birthday.

So, did some of that Crown Royal find you and force its way in to your digestive system?

Enjoyed your story Mike. I wasn't in physics but our class in general was kind of a destructive bunch. Amazing someone didn't get hurt.

Twiddles? You mean John Tremain? I forgot that was his nick name.

Mike I believe I was in your science class with Mr. Vondruska. I remember a talk about our class having a bad case of y,z,a,l and Brian Folken I believe yelled out "yzal what's that?" As Mr. Vondruska was about to go into the "My point exactly bit" I blurted out "Lazy dumbshit" I had Jan and Ann as my lab partners in the front row and we didn't do near the fire experiments like you guys in the back rows of the class.

Who was the chemistry or science teacher that embedded a fine wire in the edge of the table and when the class came in and were all leaning on the work table he charged the wire with something and shocked all of them?

Yea Johnny Tremain. Did he leave before high school even?

Another one I ran into in Grand Island a few years after graduation was Kathy Langhorst. I believe she left our junior year.

Yeah, Johnny Tremain left after 6th grade I think.   I stayed in touch with him through high school. Guess he liked his wacky tobaccy quite a bit by the time he was a senior.  Lost track of him after that.

I remember coming in to Vondro's class once and running to the back of the room to grab a bottle of alcohol before he and everyone else came in.  Fired up the bunsen burner and squirted the alcohol through the flame and across the room like a flame shooter.  Started John Hovis' books and papers on fire.

There was someone that looked like he could have been a mature Johnny Tremain at the car show here this summer but I never got over to talk to him to see who it really was. I think those bunson burners had a few abuses in all the classes.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Memorial Weekend. It definitely feels like winter has finally lost it's battle to control our weather. This weather makes me think of the discussions at the reunion about organizing a class river float trip. Trying to see if there is enough interest to try and plan something. I know I won't be able to get away to join in but speak up if you would like to go.
